Coordinator of
External Relations & Instructor of Business
The School of Business
and Management (SBM) of the American University of Armenia (AUA) is
seeking a faculty member who, in addition to teaching, will take the lead in facilitating, developing and managing SBM's corporate relations. This is a
full-time position that requires a qualified person who
is collaborative, ethical and entrepreneurial with the ability to build
executive level corporate relationships.
SUMMARY OF
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reporting to the
Dean/Associate Dean, the Coordinator of External Relations will work closely
with the SBM administration, faculty, and staff in increasing the school's visibility and in initiating, building and maintaining corporate
relationships that provide significant value to SBM's programs. The
Coordinator's responsibilities will involve the following three areas (1 and a
combination of tasks in 2 &3):
1.
Teaching & Training:
·
Teach MBA courses and/or professional training modules in at least one of the
following fields: Marketing, Management, Communication, Accounting, Finance,
and Strategy.
·
Actively participate on different university committees.
·
Other academic and administrative duties as assigned.
2.
Corporate Internships:
·
Supervise and coordinate
SBM's Internship Program, ensuring that students meet all requirements of the
internship.
·
Establish and maintain
liaison with human resource managers and executives of various organizations to introduce and promote the Internship Program
and solicit internship opportunities through various means including meeting with potential recruiters, email campaigns, alumni solicitations and
presentations.
·
Plan and coordinate activities to enable students to explore internship
opportunities; support students in
finding internships in appropriate organizations; conduct information sessions; provide guidance on resume
preparation, interview techniques and
internship search strategies.
·
Assist SBM students in defining their professional goals and to develop career
directions to fulfill those goals. Guide and supervise students during the
internship and evaluate their internship experiences.
·
Draft the annual plan for SBM's Internship Program.
·
Develop and maintain a comprehensive database of organizations hosting interns.
3.
Marketing & Recruitment:
·
Generate student leads
for SBM's programs that
target professionals and executives including the Professional MBA, corporate
training programs through various means including meeting with human resource managers and
executives of various organizations, email
campaigns, use of social media, alumni solicitations and presentations.
·
Initiate and cultivate partnerships with organizations that facilitate the
participation of their employees and executives in SBM's programs.
·
Participate in designing/redesigning SBM's programs that target professionals
and executives, including conducting
background market surveys on regular basis.
·
Participate in
preparation and design of print and online
promotional material.
·
Draft the annual plan for SBM's corporate
training and executive education programs.
·
Assist the SBM faculty in planning and organizing corporate visits.
·
Assist the SBM faculty in identifying and inviting guest speakers.
·
Initiate, manage and
secure corporate sponsorships for various SBM events and programs.
QUALIFICATIONS &
SKILLS:
The ideal candidate
would have an appropriate doctoral degree; however, otherwise qualified
candidates with a master's degree will also be considered. In addition to teaching experience, this person
would have experience working in business development or human resources management or marketing and selling products or services to mid and executive level
management. This person will be a
proactive, dynamic, creative and ethical professional. In addition, the person
will have:

Evidence of excellence in teaching graduate level courses or corporate training
modules, and familiarity with assessment of student learning
·
The ability to work as part of a team as well as autonomously, take initiative,
manage multiple projects, prioritize a high-volume of work in a fast-paced
environment, and meet deadlines
·
Excellent networking skills and ability to build professional relationships
·
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation
skills
·
Good organization and negotiation skills
·
Fluency in English and Armenian
·
Competency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
Compensation:
Competitive and commensurate with the level of qualifications.
